TASK 2: BRUMMIE BY JACKIE DALTON

I choose a topic about people and place and the title is Brummie. The article is about people are speaking with a Birmingham accent – or a 'Brummie accent' accent some might say. 'Brummie' is an informal word to describe someone or something who comes from BirminghamEngland's second biggest city.

For me, the article is little bit difficult because I need repeat the recording and read the script until three times to understand whole of the article

The intro very interesting and Jackie Dalton who as a speaker ask three people to comment on it. They‘re Carl Chinn, as a Professor of community history at Birmingham University, Anisa who lives in Birmingham's Asian community and Joan Hunter, works for a radio station. The Brummie accent is loved by some, but hated by many. For them it is being a Brummie is all about our identity, it's about who we are as a person, where we’re grew up, where we’re born and the people to whom we belong.

I think it is interesting because I learned new experience but the speakers talked very fast and they spoke with Birmingham accent.

Lastly but not at least, let see new phase that I found from the article:

Convinced completely sure about something

Endearing pleasant or nice

Warm friendly and endearing

Bound run quickly with long steps

Annoying making you fill angry or slightly angry
